Piping disaster at my cousin's wedding cake, 3am rescue
Had a cake due for my cousin's wedding in Nashville last Saturday. At 3am, my piping bag burst and buttercream splattered all over the kitchen floor and the half-done cake. I had no backup buttercream, so I whipped up a quick batch with whatever was left, added extra powdered sugar to fix the texture. It actually looked better than the original, the dots came out neater somehow. The bride loved it, but I still have buttercream in my hair and on my ceiling. Anyone else had a late night save that turned out oddly better? What went wrong for you and how did you fix it fast?
