My overnight oats recipe got me banned from a camping group in Colorado
Last month I posted a batch recipe for 35 people at a group campout near Estes Park. I measured everything in scoops and let it sit in a cooler for 9 hours, and someone said that was 'dangerous food safety' and 'not real cooking.' Honestly, I've done this for 3 years without a problem, but the mods removed my post and told me to read a manual. Has anyone else gotten kicked out of a hobby group for a weird but working method?
Scary ngl" is right. Was it the part about how long they can sit before bacteria grows, or something specific about the temp? I always thought oats were pretty safe, so I'm curious what got you worried.
