My library's banned book display got dismantled 3 times in a month
Our small library in Eugene put up a banned books display for Banned Books Week, featuring classics like Maus and 1984. Within 4 days, someone complained to the board and they made us take it down. We put it back up with a warning label, and two weeks later the display was gone again, this time because a parent threatened to pull funding. The third attempt got a padlock on the case, which I only noticed when I went to grab a copy of The Hate U Give. I honestly didn't expect this much pushback in a college town. Has anyone else had their display shut down by admin pressure, and did you find a workaround that actually stuck?
