Why does no one admit the old forum moderation was better?
Back in 2007 I got perma-banned from a music site for posting a live bootleg link, but at least the mods told you exactly why and you could appeal. Now I see people silently shadowbanned for saying "vinyl sounds warmer" and the mods won't even reply to a direct message, has anyone else watched the shift to automated silence break actual community trust?
Oh man, my old forum ban was for calling a mod's favorite band "overrated" and they at least sent a 3 paragraph essay on why I was wrong, felt more personal. Now I just get my posts eaten like I yelled into a void, makes me wonder if my comments even matter or if the algorithm already decided I'm a bot. Honestly, the clear rules and human replies were way better than this weird quiet guessing game, even if I was the one getting clapped.
