My clipper fell off the counter and now I hate my setup

Honestly, this happened last Tuesday. I was mid-fade on a regular, and my main clipper slid right off the shelf, hit the tile, and the blade gap got knocked completely out. I had to finish his cut with my backup that pulls like crazy, took 20 extra minutes and the fade line came out uneven. I checked the clipper after and the blade holder itself is bent, not even worth fixing. Ngl, I'm rethinking my whole station layout now, maybe I need a wall mount instead of that narrow shelf. Has anyone else had a tool disaster that forced them to rearrange their workspace?

...same thing happened to me about a year ago, except mine bounced off the counter and landed in the sink. That bent the blade holder too, and I was done for the day. I ended up getting a magnetic strip and sticking it to the side of my station cabinet, clippers hang there now, never touch a shelf unless I'm actively using them. Took me a full week to stop reaching for the old spot on autopilot though, muscle memory is real. And honestly, switching to the wall mount fixed my layout too, I moved my spray bottle and combs to the top shelf and now nothing is stacked or crowded. You'll probably have a few days of "where the hell did I put that" but it's worth it.

Did you try loosening the tension screw before you took it apart, or was it totally locked up on you? @the_fiona's magnetic strip trick saved my back counter too, just make sure you grab one with enough pull for the heavier clippers or you'll be picking them off the floor again.
