My old boss in Boise made me redo a fade 3 times before he showed me the mirror trick
I was cutting this kid's hair and kept chasing the blend from the front, so he turned the chair around and had me look at the back of the head in the mirror instead of looking down at it, and the line disappeared in about 30 seconds, so now I want to know what small thing a mentor showed you that fixed a problem you'd been fighting for months.

Oh man, the mirror thing is so real. I spent weeks trying to get my eyeliner wings even and kept leaning into the bathroom mirror, and a friend finally told me to back up and look at my whole face from a few feet away instead. Same idea, right? I was zoomed in so close that I couldn't see the shape at all. Fixed it in like two tries after that. Sometimes you just need to step back and change your angle instead of staring harder at the same spot.
