PSA: my busted forehead cowlick went from 2 inches to flat in 3 visits thanks to one old barber in Reno
So I've got this cowlick right at the hairline that sticks straight up no matter what I do, and for like 2 years every shop I tried just buzzed it shorter and called it a day. Then in January I sat down with this 70 year old guy named Sal in Reno who took one look and said "that's not a cowlick problem, that's a growth pattern problem." He changed the way he blends my top down into that corner, softened the line with his shears instead of the clippers, and told me to stop fighting it with gel. Three cuts later and you can barely tell the thing is there, my forehead went from looking like a hedgehog to actually flat. He charged me $22 and said most young barbers cut the hair they see instead of the hair that's growing. Any of you got a trick for cowlicks at the front hairline, or do I just keep driving to Sal?
