My uncle's advice about patina was dead wrong on that '65 Mustang
My uncle kept telling me to leave the original paint alone, said 'rust is character' and I listened for 2 months. Took it to a body shop in Dayton and the guy showed me how the rust had eaten through the frame rail, not just the fender. That repair cost me $1,800 I could have avoided if I'd stripped it down back in March. Anyone else get burned by someone's romantic view of barn find condition?
