Heard a podcaster say timing matters way less than just being consistent.

My uncle tried to time the market perfectly for 15 years and ended up buying high and selling low three different times. I personally can't even time my coffee intake right, I always end up jittery at 3pm and crashing at noon. So yeah, I think consistency is probably the way to go for normal folks like me. The podcaster probably knows what they're talking about, I just have to actually show up and do the thing.

Consistency is great if you don't mind grinding for 40 years while someone with actual timing sense beats you by 20 years. Being consistent at the wrong thing just means you fail more efficiently.
