inUnpopular opinion: I think the old growth fire watch towers are better than the newer ones
Buddy of mine said his fiberglass one in Oregon got condensation drips on his radio gear.

inFinally beat Mike Tyson's Punch-Out after 20 years of trying
Right there with you man, Took me almost as long to finally put Tyson down. I remember renting the game over and over as a kid and never getting past Bald Bull. When I finally beat it a few years ago, it felt like closing a chapter that had been open my whole life. The pattern memorization part is real but the execution still takes plenty of coordination and nerve. Nothing wrong with being proud of a win you chased that long.

inRant: That guy who told me to use a 12V battery for my trail cam setup was totally wrong
Cheap power solutions always cost you more in the long run.

inForges at the county fair showed me I was using the wrong hammer
Yeah, totally. I messed that up bad when I first started. I was trying to move some 1/8 inch strap with a really heavy rounding hammer I use for 3/8 plate and it was just bouncing off, not doing anything useful to the metal. Switched to a lighter cross peen and it moved like butter. It's like the hammer's energy just gets wasted if its too heavy for the job. You end up fighting the tool instead of the metal. I keep three hammers on my bench now just for different stock thickness and it saves me so much frustration.

inHot take: I think people overrate bone-in steaks after finding out the bone doesn't actually add flavor during cooking.
Three times? Rookie numbers. My first attempt at reverse sear I had the fire department show up because my neighbor across the street thought my apartment was actually burning down. That cast iron screaming at 500 degrees with that thin layer of oil smoking like a freight train, I had all my windows open and a towel under the door and it still filled the whole hallway. But you know what? That steak came out perfect. Medium rare edge to edge with a crust that crunched when you bit into it. I'd rather explain myself to six firefighters than eat another sad grey steak from a pan that wasn't hot enough.
