I keep a little tally on the wall by my bench, mostly as a joke, and back in March I added it up for the first time and got 212 bikes since November. What got me was not the total, it was realizing 60 of those were just tune ups where I spent half the time hunting for the right cone wrench or digging through a coffee can of ferrules. So I stopped mid shift one Tuesday, measured my bench at 6 feet, and built a pegboard with every tool laid out by size and a labeled bin for each cable end type. Last week I did a full tune up in 40 minutes instead of an hour and my back did not hurt after. Any of you track your shop numbers like this, and did anything actually change once you saw them?
