Had a customer's kid 'help' me fix their flat. Cute moment or safety hazard? How do you deal with this?

Hand them something harmless to hold, like the tire pressure gauge (it keeps them busy), but draw a hard line about staying clear of the jack. Little hands and heavy tools don't mix, you know?

Oh totally, @eric_schmidt. I read a parenting article that said the exact same thing. It called it "involved but safe" tasks to curb the frustration. Makes so much sense for keeping them busy but out of real danger.

Yeah exactly. Empty spray bottles with water or plastic measuring cups work great too. Lets them feel helpful without any real risk.
