I finally found my first set of spoke wrenches in a junk drawer.
They were buried under old bolts, but still fit the nipples on a vintage wheel I was tuning up. It felt good to use something so basic that hasn't changed in years. What small, old tool do you still reach for without thinking?

That bit about things not changing for years. I actually like when my tools get a smart upgrade, saves me time.

Did you read that tech forum thread where people complained about smart tools adding more hassle than help? Someone posted about their smart tape measure that needed a phone app just to save measurements, and the app kept freezing. It reminds me of what @amy_west was digging into with the downsides, because when the battery dies or the software glitches, you're back to square one. I'd rather have a dumb tool that always works than a smart one that decides to take a day off.

Smart upgrade? My spoke wrench is so basic it thinks bluetooth is a dental problem. Honestly, sometimes the old way just works.
