Hot take: our expense system locked me out for 9 days and I had to pay $412 out of my own pocket
So this happened last month at the big insurance place I work at, our travel and expense portal got a security patch and my login just stopped working. I filed a help ticket same day and got a canned reply saying it was a known issue with a 5 day fix. Day 5 comes and goes, nothing. I had a client dinner in Chicago that I put on my personal card, and 2 other work trips before the lock got fixed. I called the IT help desk 4 times and one guy said and I quote, just hang tight, and I'm like dude I don't have $412 to hang tight on. Finally a coworker told me to email the finance ops manager direct, and it got fixed in 2 hours. The kicker is my reimbursement still takes another 3 weeks to hit. Has anyone found a way to get a temp login faster when this stuff happens? Cause the ticket route did nothing for me.
