Switched from expense reports to a $0 spend policy and it backfired hard
Used to fill out 20 page expense forms for every client lunch. Then the bean counters rolled out a new app, said no more receipts under $50. Great, right? Wrong. My team started eating at gas stations to avoid the hassle. Client noticed. Lost a 3 year contract in Cleveland over a soggy hot dog. Now we keep paper logs in a drawer and the VP signs off. Anyone else seen micromanagement kill more money than it saved?
