inThat deleted thread about replacing your own phone battery saved me $80
Happen to remember who posted it? I've noticed some of the best repair guides around here get pulled pretty quick, usually because the mods get hit with a copyright complaint or the OP gets spooked about liability. These phone companies sure don't want people fixing their own stuff, and they've got the lawyers to back it up. Would love to know if the poster had a history of sharing guides or if it was a brand new account just dropping knowledge and disappearing.

inI used to think generic drugs were always the same as name brand. Not anymore.
You ever notice how nothing seems to be built the same way it used to be? Same thing happens with tools and parts for my work, cheaper replacements break faster than the originals. Feels like the whole world is cutting corners and calling it good enough.

inHad a croissant disaster yesterday and it flipped my whole method
Wait, did @smith.nancy actually just say 10 minutes? That is not nearly enough time for butter to come to room temp unless your kitchen is a sauna. Cold butter straight from the fridge will crack and tear your dough every time, I have been there and it is a complete mess to fix. You need at least 30-45 minutes depending on how warm your house is, the butter should bend without breaking. No wonder your pastry is coming out tough if you are rushing the butter that hard.

inPro tip: My fire pit went from smoking out the whole campsite to nearly invisible flames in one weekend
You ever tried burning pinon wood from out west? That stuff is like nature's scented candle compared to the wet garbage I used to drag out of my backyard. I made the same switch last summer after a buddy told me about it, and I felt like an idiot for not figuring it out sooner. The heat output alone was night and day, plus my clothes didnt smell like I'd been chain-smoking campfires all weekend. I'll never go back to that mystery wood pile again.

inThat kid at my school told me to just 'ignore the bullies' and it still bugs me
Gotta say, @sagecooper pretty much nailed how I feel about it too. I remember once trying the "ignore them" strategy and ended up just accidentally smiling at the exact wrong moment, which made the bully convinced I was mocking them, so that backfired real quick. Honestly, I've given dumber advice myself though - I once told a friend to "just be confident" while I was literally hiding from a group chat notification because I was scared of sounding dumb. Maybe it's just me, but I think people who say that stuff mean well, they just forget how the quiet part of your brain works when you're actually in that spot.
