The teacher fired for singing at a karaoke bar in Portland
Last month a middle school teacher in Portland, Oregon got canned because someone filmed her belting an R. Kelly song at a karaoke night and posted it with a nasty caption. She wasn't on the clock, no students around, but the district caved to 200 angry comments within 48 hours. I get that the song is problematic, but should a person lose their whole career over a private singalong? Has anyone else watched a local case spiral like this and felt the punishment went way past the offense?
