My old man's 1979 bandsaw still cuts straighter than the new one I got in 2021
Back in 1992 my dad taught me to break down a whole hog on a 1979 Hobart bandsaw in our garage in Gary, and that thing never wandered once if you fed it right. Fast forward to 2021 and I dropped $1,400 on a shiny new saw, and the blade drift on it is so bad I'm back to hand sawing ribs like some kind of rookie. Any of you old timers figure out if the new guides are just junk, or did I miss something setting the tension?
