My local paper ran 12 stories about one guy getting fired and I started counting the comments
I live in a small town outside Boise and our paper went all in on this story about a school board member who got pushed out over an old tweet. I counted 12 separate pieces in 3 weeks, and the comment sections turned into a war zone with people on both sides calling for boycotts of local businesses. It made me wonder if the paper is driving the outrage or just chasing it, because the actual facts barely changed between story one and story twelve. Did anyone else notice a local outlet in their area stretch one cancel story way past its shelf life?
