Update: my take on "mandatory fun" team retreats totally flipped after the Denver one
For 4 years I thought forcing everyone into trust falls and whiteboard sessions was just corporate theater. Then our VP at the Denver retreat admitted the real goal: they use those chats to find who actually does the work vs who just talks in meetings. I watched two slackers get shifted to a dead project the next month. Now I treat those things like free intel gathering. Anyone else notice they reward people who complain about broken processes during those offsites?
