I paid $340 for a generic asthma inhaler that cost $15 to make and it still didn't work as well as the brand name did 2 years ago.
My insurance switched me to the generic version last month because of the price difference and I ended up in urgent care 3 days later in Cleveland because it just didn't open my lungs the same way has anyone else had this issue with the generic replacements

Read something about this in a medical journal actually. They said the propellant in generics isn't always the same so it doesn't deliver the medication the same way. Sorry you landed in urgent care, that's scary.

Yeah, that propellant thing is real (and honestly, it's such a pain). I've switched brands before and ended up feeling like I was inhaling air instead of medicine. Here's the trick that saved me: shake the inhaler really hard for a full 10 seconds before each puff, and then wait a full 30 seconds between puffs if you need more than one. Also, make sure you're holding your breath for at least 10 seconds after inhaling, that's the part people skip. I keep a little timer on my phone just for this, honestly it's saved me from more urgent care trips.
