My dad’s $400 heart medication shot up to $1,200 overnight
My father has been taking the same blood pressure med for years, costs around $400 a month with his insurance. Last month he goes to refill it and the pharmacy says it's now $1,200. No warning, no letter, just a new price tag. The pharmacist told me it’s because the manufacturer raised the wholesale cost and the insurance plan didn’t update their formulary yet. Has anyone else had a med suddenly triple in price like that without any notice?
OK so the FDA rule only covers a small slice of drugs, like maybe 10% of what's actually on the market. @reese_hayes71 are they even looking at the old generics that keep jumping 500% overnight for no reason? There's no real penalty in there for companies that just ignore the rule either, just a slap on the wrist.
