A farrier at the Linn County fair told me my hammer control was garbage and it stung because he was right
I was doing a demo at the Linn County fair back in August and this old farrier watched me for ten minutes then said I was choking up on the handle and losing half my power. I argued for a second, then tried it his way and my hammer blows landed way more consistent on the 3/4 inch stock I was drawing out. Now I start every session with 10 minutes of nothing but handle position drills before I touch hot metal. What drills do you all use to keep your grip honest?
