Re-watched The Godfather at 35, totally different movie than at 18
I remember thinking it was just a slow mob drama back in high school, but last weekend I put it on again and couldn't stop noticing how every conversation is about power, not violence. The scene where Michael kisses Fredo got me so choked up this time, I actually had to pause it and explain to my wife why I was tearing up over a 1972 film. Has anyone else gone back to a classic they hated and found it hits completely different once you've lived a little more?
