Took me 3 days to beat the water temple without a guide, worth it though
I got back into Ocarina of Time on my old N64 after like 10 years and decided I was gonna do a no-walkthrough run for once. The Water Temple had me stuck for 3 straight nights, I kept missing that one key behind the pillar in the central tower and ended up looping the same rooms over and over. When I finally got it I felt dumb for not checking the map more carefully, but honestly beating it blind felt way better than just following a guide like I did back in 2004. Anyone else here try replaying a classic game with zero help and end up spending way longer than you thought?
Keep checking that map every time you refill the water levels, that's the real trick. I did the same thing with Majora's Mask and spent way too long on the Stone Tower because I skipped a single wall switch. Blind runs make you learn the game's logic instead of just copying someone else's path, even if it hurts your brain for a few nights.
