Vent: My copy of Super Mario 64 froze at 119 stars and I lost 40 hours of saves
I was 12, sitting in my buddy Dave's basement in Toledo on a rainy Saturday in 1998, going for my last star in Tick Tock Clock. The cartridge had been acting weird all week, but I figured it was just dusty. Right when I grabbed the star, the screen went black and my file was gone. I tried blowing in it, wiggling it, and even holding it up to a lamp like an idiot. Ended up redoing the whole game over winter break out of pure spite. Did anyone else lose a save back then, or was it just me being dumb with my carts?
