Am I the only one who thought worker placement games were all dry math until I tried one at a library in Portland
Last Tuesday I went to a board game night at the library on SE Belmont in Portland, mostly to kill time while my car was getting fixed. A guy taught me a farming game where you place little people on action spots, and I had always assumed that style of game was just spreadsheets with cardboard. What got me was how tight the choices felt, like every spot I took blocked someone else, and I lost by 2 points after 90 minutes of second guessing myself. I normally only go for dice chuckers and party games, so this was a full flip for me. The guy said the trick is not to overthink your first round, just get something going and adjust. Now I want to try a heavier one but I'm not sure where to start, so what's a good next step after a light farming game?
