Left a Catan game mid-turn last night and I'm still getting texts about it
Was at a friend's place in Portland playing a 4-player game with some people I just met. Close game, I was one development card away from winning. Then this one guy started explaining why my road placement was 'suboptimal' for the 5th time. Not in a helpful way, just lecturing. I stood up, said 'you can have my sheep,' and walked out. They texted me like 8 times after. Was I out of line? Has anyone else just walked away from a game night like that?

Oh man, that's rough but I mean, I kinda get it. Though walking out mid-turn might have been a bit much, honestly. The whole "suboptimal road placement" thing sounds annoying but maybe he was just trying to be helpful and didn't realize he was being a buzzkill. I feel like you could have just said "dude, I get it, let's just keep playing" instead of bailing. Also, leaving them with your sheep is funny but probably just made things more awkward for everyone. Idk, maybe just apologize and tell them you were having a bad day, it's not worth burning bridges over a board game.

Walked out mid-round actually, not mid-turn.

Wait, you actually just left and let them keep your sheep?
