That video of a glacier retreating over 30 years finally convinced me

You ever notice how the same pattern shows up in something as simple as neighborhood gardens? I'm watching a house on my street where their front yard went from grass to native plants over the last five years. First year, barely anything changed. Second year, a few more weeds than normal. But this year, it's basically a mini meadow with birds and butterflies all over it. The acceleration is what gets me. It's like once things cross a certain threshold, the whole system starts moving faster on its own. Your glacier timeline sounds exactly like that.

Vent: My brother told me to just pay the minimum on my credit cards for a year

My brother told me the same thing a few years back and I ended up paying $400 in interest just like you. I learned the hard way that paying the minimum is basically a trap from the credit card companies, not a shortcut to good credit.

A student told me my 'both sides' framing on a protest handout was actually flattening the issue, so I rewrote it to center the specific demands of the group being protested.

Read a study that showed how framing a debate actually changes people’s opinions without them noticing.

Question about switching from spreadsheets to a real CRM

Have you found that your team is actually using HubSpot consistently, or is it a battle every day to get them to log stuff? I went through the same pain a couple years ago when we moved from Google Sheets to a real CRM, and the hardest part was getting people to trust the new system. We had a few guys who swore by their spreadsheets and would sneak off to update them instead of the CRM. What finally worked for us was having a weekly 10 minute meeting just to show how much cleaner the pipeline looked with the new tool. It helped that we could pull reports in seconds instead of hunting through tabs. How did you get your team on board?

Spent 3 hours trying to stack an astrophotography shot of Andromeda last night

Did your friend ever figure out the issue? My buddy Steve spent four hours one night banging his head against DSS, only to realize his calibration frames were all taken at ISO 800 while his lights were at ISO 1600 (rookie mistake, I guess). He had to reshoot everything the next weekend, which sucked because the moon was already getting in the way by then.
