Spent $250 on a 'dark humor' comedy class, walked out with a bit that kills

Signed up for this weekend workshop in Portland after my office roast fell flat hard. The instructor made us write about our own worst moments, and my bit about my divorce lawyer's puns got genuine laughs at the open mic last night. Was it worth the cash? For the feedback alone, yeah, but I'm curious if anyone else has dropped real money on joke coaching or writing groups that actually helped, or if most of it is just overpriced echo chambers.
