Found a co-working spot in Lisbon that's basically a ghost town

Was in Lisbon for a month and checked out this highly rated co-working spot called Second Home. It's this beautiful space with plants everywhere but I was literally the only person there on a Tuesday morning. Turns out most digital nomads have already moved on to places like Medellin or Bali for the winter. Has anyone else noticed certain nomad hubs getting quieter as people chase cheaper cost of living?

Wait, is rent the main reason people leave or is it more about the whole vibe shifting from one season to the next? @the_thomas hit it right that people pack up fast when costs go up, but I feel like Lisbon still has a lot going for it even if it is pricier now. The internet is still solid, the weather is way better than most of Europe in the winter, and the coffee culture is legit. But I guess when you can live like a king in Medellin for half the price, the math just doesn't work out for a lot of folks. It makes me wonder if these hubs are always going to be temporary booms that fade as soon as the next cheap spot gets discovered on TikTok.

Second Home is that big place with the curved windows near the river, right? I remember walking past it last spring and it was packed. That is shocking to hear it was dead on a Tuesday. People really do just pack up and leave as soon as rent gets a little high somewhere else.
