Went to this pop-up exhibit in Williamsburg last weekend that showed 20 paintings side by side. 10 were done by people, 10 by Midjourney and DALL-E. They had a blind voting thing at the end. Out of like 50 people there, only 3 got more than half right. I got 7 out of 10 correct but only because I noticed one AI piece had a strange shadow on a face that didn't match the light source. But the other 9 I was just guessing. Has anyone else done a test like this? How do you even spot AI art in a gallery setting anymore?

I replied to a guy in Omaha who was paying $340 a month for a $50k whole life policy he'd had for 3 years. Told him to cancel it and buy term life instead, then invest the difference in a low cost index fund. The mods nuked my comment for "giving unlicensed financial advice" but the guy DMed me thanking me because he was about to drain his savings on premiums. Has anyone else gotten hit for stating basic financial literacy on those strict subs?

So tired of players who ignore the turn order in cooperative games

We were three rounds into Pandemic Legacy last night at Mike's house, and one guy kept jumping in to take actions before his turn was called. He said he was just 'helping the team think ahead,' but it totally messes up the strategy when you don't know what the next player is going to draw. I've seen this happen in about 6 different game groups over the last 5 years, and it always ends with someone getting frustrated. Has anyone else found a polite way to shut this down without making it awkward?

I started sweeping chimneys back in '99 with an old timer in Philly who refused to use a vacuum, just tarps and brushes and a lot of elbow grease. Over the last 25 years I watched us go from that to HEPA vacs and spinning rods that do half the work, but I swear the old guy's results were cleaner even without the fancy gear. Anyone else feel like we lost something good when we traded sore shoulders for all this tech?
