Watched a buddy teach Catan to his dad, 2 hours of pure chaos
Last Friday at my local game shop in Portland, my friend tried to explain the robber mechanic to his 60 year old dad. The first game took 2 and a half hours because every turn ended with a 10 minute rules debate about trading wheat for ore. By the second game, his dad was trading like a shark, cutting off my longest road and winning by 2 points. The shift happened when my buddy finally printed out a one page cheat sheet with simple examples. Has anyone else seen a new player flip that fast once they get past the initial rule jumble?
