Hot take: a $3 tube of pipe dope cost me 4 hours on a boiler feed line in Baton Rouge
Chased a pinhole leak at a flange for half my shift, re-torqued the studs twice and swapped the gasket, then a 20-year hand points at the threads and asks who taught me to skip dope on the male end, so now I want to know what dumb little step has eaten half of somebody else's day.
