I was reading an old union safety report from the 1980s and the injury stats were way worse than I thought.

It was a report from the Kansas City local, and it said back in '83 there were over 200 reported hand and arm injuries just from grinding and cutting in a single year. I mean, I knew it was rough before modern PPE, but that number is just crazy to see in print. Makes you really appreciate the gear we have now, even if it's a pain sometimes. Has anyone else come across old stats that made you pause?

Man, old asbestos handling logs are just as bad.

Holy hell, over 200 just for hands? That's brutal.

Yeah, saw some old factory logs from the 70s once. The number of hearing loss claims was insane, just page after page. Really puts things in perspective.
