My 20 ton jack slipped on a wet deck plate in Norfolk

Last month I was leveling a huge boiler section down at the Norfolk shipyard when the whole setup shifted on a rain soaked deck plate. The jack kicked sideways and the load came down about 4 inches before the cribbing caught it. My heart was pounding and I immediately called for a crane to lift the section back up while we re-set the jack pads on dry plywood. After that I now tape down a rubber mat under any jack base when there's any moisture around. What do you guys do to keep ground contact solid on slick surfaces?
