Picked a 4 inch hard cap over a floating roof for the tank in Gary, and now I'm second guessing it
We had to spec a new 40 foot tank for a job in Gary last spring and I went with the hard cap instead of the floating roof because the boss said the vapor loss math didn't justify the extra cost. Six months in, the customer is complaining about condensation and we've already been out twice to check the seals. I keep wondering if I should have pushed back harder on the floating roof, since the product they store flashes off way more than the spec sheet said. Anyone here run into this on a similar tank and how did you handle the callback?
