Rant: I laughed at the old timer who told me to torque in 3 passes, then a flange leaked on me in Tulsa
I told him that was overkill and hit every bolt once with the impact, nice and quick. Next morning we had a drip on a 12 inch line at the refinery job in Tulsa and I had to break the whole joint back down. He just watched me retorque every bolt in a star pattern, three passes, and said nothing the whole time. That was 4 hours of my life and a lot of cleanup I am not getting back. So who else learned this the hard way, or am I the only one who needed a leak to believe it?
