Finally hit that bonus hole par after 4 months of trying

I mean our club added a weird 120-yard island green bonus hole last spring. Every time I played it I dumped my tee shot into the water like clockwork. Three weeks ago I just swapped my 50-degree wedge for a smooth 9-iron bump and run. Yesterday I actually stuck it to 8 feet and two-putted for par. Anyone else found a weird trick that finally made their bonus hole click?

Switching to a bump and run saved my butt on short par threes too.

My buddy Dave tried the bump and run on a tricky par three with water short and a false front. He ended up knocking it to two feet while I chunked two wedges into the hazard. Now he won't shut up about it (and honestly, he shouldn't).
