The 13th hole at Hickory Creek changed my mind about gimmicks
Our club's bonus hole is just a short par 3 over a pond with a flag shaped like a rubber duck, and I used to think it was pure silliness. Then last Saturday an older member named Pete told me it saved his round because him and his buddies replay it every week instead of heading to the bar. He said the extra hole gives them something to argue about that doesn't matter, which is the whole point. Has anyone else had a bonus hole turn into their favorite spot, or do most of you skip it too?
