The bonus hole at Pecan Grove used to be a joke, now it's serious

Back in 2019 that 19th hole was just a 95 yard chip over a pond, we'd play it with a beer in hand. Last month I went back and they'd turned it into a full par 3 with bunkers and a stupid dogleg, took me 4 shots to get on. Club added it after some tournament in 2022 got decided on a coin flip apparently. Anyone else see courses upgrade their bonus holes into actual challanges or is this just happening down here in Texas?
