My book club picked a 900 page novel and the meeting turned into a hostage situation
So back in February our club in Tulsa voted on a book and somehow the 900 page one won by a single vote, mine, which I still feel bad about. Fast forward to the meeting at Dana's place, only 3 of the 12 people finished it, and two of them kept spoiling the ending while the rest of us waved our hands like we were landing a plane. Dana served chili and cornbread, which was great, except now her white couch has a permanent orange stain shaped like Portugal. We spent 40 minutes arguing about whether not finishing a book should count as a "no vote" for next time, and honestly the argument was better than the book. How does your club handle it when half the group bails on a long pick?
