Our club picked a 900 page book and I thought it would kill us, but here we are
I voted against it back in January. Our group in Spokane has 11 members and half of us never finish anything past 400 pages, so a 900 pager felt like a trap. Then we split it into 3 chunks with a check-in every couple weeks, and the talks we had were the best of the whole season, like people picked up stuff I completely missed on my own read. So now I'm torn on whether big books are a secret weapon or just luck. Has a long pick ever worked out for your group, or did it fall apart by chapter 10?
