Pressing flowers between pages saved my broken spine
I had this old 1920s poetry book where the hinge completely gave out, and I found a trick using a 2 inch strip of japanese tissue and wheat paste. You lay the tissue along the hinge, let it dry flat under a few heavy books for 48 hours, and that thing holds like new. It cost me about 4 bucks in materials from a shop in Portland. Has anyone else tried this method on a really stubborn text block?
