An old gardener in Phoenix changed my view on weeds
I was pulling bindweed from my raised beds last spring and a neighbor in his 80s stopped to watch. He said "those aren't enemies, they're soil doctors" and showed me how the roots were breaking up the clay underneath. Have you ever left a patch of weeds alone just to see what happens to your dirt?

Left crabgrass one summer, soil was way easier to dig after.
