Everyone pushes grow lights for indoor seedlings but a $4 sunny window in my Denver place beat my $150 LED setup
Last spring I ran an experiment with two trays of tomato seedlings, one under a fancy LED bar and one on my south facing sill, and the window ones got thicker stems and darker leaves in about 3 weeks. The light was free and the plants did not stretch at all, while the LED tray got leggy the second I moved it 6 inches closer. So why does every beginner guide tell people to drop $100+ on lights before they even try the brightest window in their house?
