My prized Monstera deliciosa got a bad case of root rot after I overwatered it in early spring.

I was in my sunroom and noticed the leaves turning yellow. I pulled it out of the pot and the roots were brown and mushy. I cut off all the rot, repotted it in fresh mix with extra perlite, and now, two months later, it's pushing out a new leaf. Has anyone else saved a plant from root rot and had it bounce back?

My friend did that with her fiddle leaf fig, like laura_chen41's gravel trick but with perlite.

Nice save. That extra perlite is key for letting the roots breathe.

Remember when we used gravel for drainage before perlite was common?
