Just realized my cheap chicken habit has a hidden cost
I always bought the cheapest chicken to save money. After watching a film on how factory farms work, I felt bad about it. Now I buy less meat but from places that treat animals better. It costs more, so I'm learning new veggie recipes to balance my budget.

lol but come on, cheap chicken is how most people afford to eat meat regularly. Those documentaries are super biased and miss the point that factory farms feed millions. Spending more on 'ethical' meat is just a feel-good move for rich folks.

How does feeding millions excuse torture?

That "feel-good move for rich folks" part really hits home because it shows how the whole system is set up. Even if people like @kim.nina are right about the torture, most of us are stuck choosing between bad ethics and bad bills at the store. So the cheap food does feed millions, but that fact doesn't make the suffering okay, it just makes the problem feel impossible to fix. We built a machine that runs on pain and now we all kinda depend on it.

Wait, calling those docs "super biased" is wild when they're just showing actual footage. @kim.nina is right, how does feeding people require that level of suffering?
