Vent: my aunt Donna in Tulsa told me to stop buying chicken breast and get leg quarters instead, and she was dead right
I argued with her for like 20 minutes at Thanksgiving about it. I kept saying breast is cleaner, easier to cook, whatever. She just kept saying 99 cents a pound.
So last week I finally did it. Bought a 10 lb bag of leg quarters for $8.90 at the store on 11th. Seasoned them with the same stuff I use on breast, roasted at 425 for about 45 min. Meat came out way juicier and my kids ate it faster than they ever ate chicken breast.
I did the math after. Same amount of meat from breast would've cost me around $30. I feel dumb for fighting her on it for years.
Anyway my question is what do you all do with the bones and skin? I tossed them but felt bad. Is there a cheap way to use that up too?
