My buddy said skip the $60 airport shuttle in Reykjavik and just walk, ended up dragging my bag 3 miles in the rain
A friend who studied abroad in Iceland kept telling me the shuttle from Keflavik into downtown was a tourist trap and that walking is easy. So when I landed in January I decided to save the money and hoof it. Turns out his "easy walk" was based on a summer trip from a hostel that was way closer than my spot near Hallgrimskirkja. I made it about a mile before the wind flipped my rolling bag and the sidewalk turned to ice. Ended up paying $18 for a bus anyway plus $14 for a cab for the last stretch because I was soaked and freezing. Has anyone else gotten burned by advice from someone who visited in a totally different season?
